Accounting Manager

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead and oversee our accounting operations. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and delivering accurate financial reports to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. 


 Key Responsibilities 

 Financial Reporting and Analysis 

  •  Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. 
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership. 
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). 
  • Team Leadership and Development 

 

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of accounting staff. 
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. 
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills. 
  • General Ledger Management 

 

  • Oversee all general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. 
  • Budgeting and Forecasting 

 

  • Collaborate with departments to develop budgets and financial forecasts. 
  • Monitor budget adherence and investigate variances. 

 

Internal Controls and Compliance 

 Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. 

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings. 


Audit and Tax Coordination 

 Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process. 

Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings. 


Process Improvement 

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

Leverage technology and tools to streamline accounting operations. 


Requirements 

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 

 

Experience: 

Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards. Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and heavy use of Quickbooks 

 

Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.  Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
